Training & Development
All firms will talk about their training programs. Many will talk about getting you ready for the job that you're about to do. But we're widely considered to have the best on the Street. Vault voted JPMorgan best training program out of all Investment and Commercial Banks for 2008.
Unlike other firms, we don't train regionally. Here, training for full-time Analysts and Associates from around the world all happens in New York, allowing you to build your global network from day one. There's a lot you need to learn. You don't just get to a certain level and stay there - we continue training you throughout your career.
We also believe in life-long learning and a global commitment to training. It doesn't stop after a couple of years, but continues so that you're ready for the many uncertainties and opportunities you'll face over the course of your career, wherever you may be.
Our education programs have the best of all worlds and are one of the key reasons why people join us. We mix the theoretical with the practical, and make learning accessible and business-focused. On the one hand, some of the world's leading professors from the world of academia give us the benefit of their knowledge; on the other hand, over 500 of our own most senior managers are involved in our training programs, and many leave their desks for six to eight weeks a year to impart their practical experience as tutors. We'll never be complacent about our training either. We routinely seek feedback from Analysts and Associates who have been through the program in order to improve our training for future colleagues.
Personal development is one of our core business principles. Coaching and development are recognized and celebrated as traits you need to lead and succeed. So if you share our commitment to learning and staying on the cutting edge, you'll find it much easier to advance in our world.
Wherever your career takes you, you'll learn a wide range of new skills. Technical ability, though, will only take you so far. By the time you get to the VP level, it's the ability to build relationships that matters most. So we'll also make sure you have those communication and leadership skills well before you become a Vice President.
Of course, it's not just for your benefit. Our ongoing success depends on employing the most highly-trained and motivated people. That said, we know you'll get a lot out of it too. |
