PhD Summer Associates will take on important responsibilities from the start.

We help you build your professional network with your peers and senior management throughout the summer. You will meet professionals from all parts of the firm and enhance your professional network.

Our culture of mentorship will provide you with informal mentors that will guide you through your summer at the firm. Many past Summer Associates have been impressed at how willing our people are to discuss their careers with you, answer your questions about the firm and generally support you during your time with us.

Quantitative Research

During your summer in Quantitative Research, you will receive one-on-one training as you work closely with an experienced quantitative researcher on a project to develop a new model or financial analytic that will affect a trading business or corporate calculation. Over the course of your ten-week internship, you will also learn a great deal on the job from your colleagues and teammates.

Fixed Income Strategy

During summer training, you will learn about J.P. Morgan as a global organization with the breadth of products and depth of knowledge to provide clients with innovative solutions. Of course, you will also gain the technical knowledge you need to succeed as a Summer Associate. 

Proprietary Positioning Business

Proprietary Positioning Business interns receive on-the-job training, working closely with mentors on projects that contribute meaningfully to activities of the business. As a Summer Associate, you will have the opportunity to interact with and learn from experienced professionals specializing in a market area or asset class. Over the course of summer, you will hone your skills and develop greater breadth and depth of knowledge about markets and quantitative models.
