Practical applications and educational events for students

We think of you as career influencers. And, as career influencers, you might be seeking practical ways to reinforce theoretical concepts you teach in the classroom. We recommend referring your students to two particular J.P. Morgan initiatives - both with an educational objective to incorporate skills and knowledge from the classroom into hands-on experiences:

Our Good Venture Case Competition is a socially responsible case competition where students select, analyze and champion a non-profit organization. The winning team will receive $25,000 for their organization, and each finalist team will receive a contribution to its cause. Teams will gain practical experience in tearing apart an organization's financial statements and putting together a business case - with the perspective that the financial contribution is an investment seeking social returns. At our Winning Women Leadership Events, sophomore and junior students interested in investment banking, sales and trading and/or research can meet some of the top players in the business and hear how they've personally contributed to our success. We give students the opportunity to get involved in presentations and interactive skills sessions, network with exceptional people and get inspiration for how they can follow in their footsteps. The Launching Leaders Undergraduate Scholarship provides top students and with internship opportunities in the Investment Bank, as well as scholarships of up to $10,000 a year. The program is open to Black, Hispanic and Native American sophomores who are interested in financial services. We are open to all majors and you must have a 3.5 GPA minimum. Meet and job-shadow our people, take part in educational activities, and discuss global finance with industry experts. The J.P. Morgan Launching Leaders MBA Scholarship is aimed at the very best Black, Hispanic or Native American MBA students. Chosen candidates will be offered a $40,000 scholarship towards their first-year tuition fees, and a place in our prestigious MBA Summer Associate Program. We assign each scholarship recipient a senior executive mentor. MBAs can work in Investment Banking, Sales & Trading or Research. We partner with Teach For America to allow college graduates who have accepted offers from our investment bank in the U.S. to defer their start dates with us in order to teach at Teach For America first for two years.
