Advice for parents

Your daughter has been invited for an interview at J.P. Morgan. It's good to be proud. You are welcome here.

J.P. Morgan is very selective. We interview candidates with exceptional academic qualifications, an aptitude for numbers and a strong interest in business. The rest depends on a mix of factors, including personality and interests.

Like college, a job has to be the right fit. What's the culture at J.P. Morgan like? Will she like her colleagues? What about those hours! And, New York City - is it really safe? You've no doubt heard that Wall Street professionals work hard (it's true). Then, of course, there is the work itself. Will she enjoy it? These are all good questions, and your daughter (or son) may turn to you for advice.

We are so glad you have decided to visit our site. We've designed it to help you and our candidates get to know more about J.P. Morgan. Take some time to look around. You'll be better able to help your daughter think through the pros and cons when - and if - she asks you.

But at the end of the day, this is your daughter's decision, and we urge you to support her in it. If she accepts a position, be excited for her. We understand something that perhaps your daughter doesn't, at least not yet; she has to do this entirely on her own, with your support but not your participation. It will be the beginning of her professional life. She will be standing on her own, achieving on her own - and possibly stumbling on her own. Give her the gift of trusting her and letting her do it.

But rest assured that we will look after her during her time at J.P. Morgan - from providing meals and car service home when she works at night to making sure she has mentors who will guide her throughout her time here. We will also offer the best up-front and continuous training on Wall Street, so she can continuously develop her career.

What J.P. Morgan has to offer

We asked a great number of J.P. Morgan professionals why they came and why they stayed, and for virtually all of them, it came down to six key reasons. We call it the Hot Six. Read more about these in Why J.P. Morgan.
