Princeton in Asia
Princeton in Asia (PiA), a non-profit whose mission is to create cross-cultural understanding between Asia and the United States, and J.P. Morgan, with significant operations in Asia, forged a partnership based on our shared commitment to Asia and our dedication to building vital communities in the developing world.
About Princeton in Asia
Princeton in Asia is a private, independent, non-profit organization affiliated with Princeton University which each year sends recent college graduates to work in Asia. Through this cultural exchange, PiA aims 'To promote good will and understanding... and to facilitate in every way the free interchange of the best ideals in the civilizations of both the East and the West.'
For over a century, PiA has provided bright, motivated graduates the opportunity to live and work in Asia. Each year, PiA places and supports 125 young professionals working in 17 Asian countries. Currently these include Cambodia, China, East Timor, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. PiA Fellows work in substantive roles in Asian educational institutions and organizations, immersing themselves in the language, culture, and work habits of their country. PiA operates in the fields of education, development, journalism, and business.
About our partnership and the fellowship
PiA and J.P. Morgan have launched an innovative two-year fellowship that will support a fellow to pursue a proposed course of cultural and linguistic study in Asia in year one, followed by a year of working as a general Analyst at J.P. Morgan's offices in Asia in year two. This is the first fellowship of its kind between a premier global financial firm and a cross-cultural non-profit with an Asia-focused mission for talented young Americans.
This unique fellowship experience is open to talented graduates with an interest in Asia. You do not have to attend Princeton to apply.
Our goal with this partnership is to address the needs of deserving Asian communities, to give talented young people the chance to learn about an incredible part of the world that will transform their perspectives, and to create a cadre of J.P. Morgan employees who have a significant knowledge base about parts of Asia in which the firm operates.
