Private Wealth Management

At J.P. Morgan, we pride ourselves on understanding our clients' goals, and our clients themselves.

We think a ten-week summer internship with us is an invaluable way to spend your summer - and we think you'll agree. If you’re interested in working closely with clients, then this is the perfect place to start.

About Private Wealth Management

Private Wealth Management at J.P. Morgan is a national wealth management leader that delivers the highest quality advice, service, capabilities and products to high net worth individuals and families across the United States. We deliver highly customized and tailored solutions to help clients grow wealth across generations, while managing the many complexities they face by leveraging all of the capabilities of the firm.

Private Wealth Management addresses every facet of wealth management from investment management, to tax and estate planning, credit, and specialty wealth advisory services.

The magnitude of an Analyst's job

The summer internship is designed to provide undergraduate students with hands-on, real-world experience in Private Wealth Management. Summer Analysts will work in a team environment helping to develop financial solutions for our clients. This ten-week program consists of practical work assignments and structured learning opportunities, including specific market projects and training classes. It's an opportunity for you to develop new skills while learning about the financial services industry and gaining exposure to Private Wealth Management.

Over the course of our ten-week program, you'll get to really know our business strategy, structure and values. Part of your learning will come from interacting with our senior leaders and seasoned professionals. You'll find that we're interested in making sure you learn and have a chance to contribute your ideas and skills.

What we look for

Because Private Wealth Management Analysts work so closely with clients and colleagues, outstanding interpersonal, communication, leadership, and teamwork skills are a must. We also look for an entrepreneurial spirit mixed with a strong work ethic and desire to constantly learn. Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential, as well as the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines in a dynamic atmosphere. Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.2.

If you don't have a strong financial or business background, be sure you can tell your story: be able to demonstrate your quantitative and qualitative aptitude both scholastically (SATs, coursework) and practically (former jobs, for example) and be ready to articulate how your background will enhance your career at J.P. Morgan (you can find tips in our Advice Center under not a business major)
